The Morton Trio
Tony Zhai on violin, Paul Cheung on piano and Jenean Lee on cello.
Tony and Paul appeared at July’s concert and stunned the audience with their brilliance and musicianship. All three are closely involved with Sydney’s Conservatorium of Music as students and together in November when the centrepiece of their performance will be Mendelssohn's D Minor Trio.
Tony travelled to Brazil with his teacher Ole Böhn to attend the FEMUSC international music festival. He is a frequent performer at the Oslo Vigeland Museum Summer Concert Series, and gave a full-length recital there in July this year.
Paul is one of Australia’s most promising young accompanists. He has received both the prestigious Geoffrey Parsons Australian Scholarship and the Chapple Bremner Award.
Jenean joins them in November. She has been playing cello for more than ten years and this year was selected as an intern at Opera Australia where she worked with members of the Australian Opera and Ballet Orchestra.
